Accell Construction Increases Tommy Baldwin Racing Program with Three-Race Sponsorship

March 28, 2012

Reutimann will pilot the No. 10 Accell Construction Chevrolet at Martinsville, Texas and Kansas

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (March 28, 2012) – Accell Construction made a three-race commitment with Tommy Baldwin Racing adding to the Oklahoma-based company’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) program. David Reutimann will pilot the No. 10 Accell Construction Chevrolet at Martinsville Speedway, Texas Motor Speedway and Kansas Speedway.

Accell Construction, an Oklahoma-based company, sponsored the No. 10 Chevrolet at Phoenix International Raceway, Las Vegas Motor Speedway and Auto Club Speedway. Continuing to see an increase in interest of the company, Accell Construction decided to extend their relationship with the NSCS team.

The 20-year-old company also sponsored the TBR No. 36 Chevrolet for six primary events, as well as associate races, last season. Accell Construction, a full-service site civil contractor for the pipeline terminal and bulk storage industries, specializes in tank farm construction, tank foundations and other related site civil construction.

“Accell Construction is proud to represent the pipeline terminal and bulk storage construction industry in the NASCAR world,” explained Steve Todhunter, owner of Accell Construction. “Texas and Kansas are like hometown tracks for us, so we are looking forward to competing there. We enjoy taking our customers out to celebrate racing in the Midwest. We have had a good time working with TBR over the past two seasons and are excited to continue that relationship.”

With Accell Construction on board for three of the four races with Reutimann behind the wheel, the No. 10 team worked to overcome early bad luck. The Zephyrhills, Fla., native drove into the 34th position in NSCS Owner Points. The point position will lock the Accell Construction team into the Goody’s Fast Relief 500 this weekend.

“Accell Construction has been a great partner for the past year and a half,” commented Tommy Baldwin. “Steve and his company have been good to work with, and we are thrilled that he continues to see a return on the relationship. With them coming on board for three races, we have a little bit of breathing room as we continue to seek sponsorship for the remainder of the season.”

Reutimann will hit the .526-mile track Friday for practice. He will qualify the No. 10 Accell Construction Chevrolet on Saturday for Sunday’s event at Martinsville Speedway.

About Tommy Baldwin Racing:

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) Crew Chief Tommy Baldwin formed Tommy Baldwin Racing (TBR) in 2009. Baldwin utilized a declining economy to open a NSCS team with a stringent budget. The team worked to build to full-time competition, and by the 2011 season, the team’s third season, TBR competed in every race and locked the No. 36 Chevrolet in the top-35 in NSCS Owner Points. Dave Blaney drove the No. 36 Chevrolet to TBR’s highest finish of third in the October 2011 event at Talladega Superspeedway. TBR also fielded a second car for select races in the past two seasons with multiple drivers.

Based in Mooresville, N.C., TBR will compete in the NSCS in 2012 with NASCAR veterans David Reutimann and Dave Blaney. The team will also compete in the NASCAR Nationwide Series with Ryan Blaney, Bobby Santos and Ryan Truex.

NHMS Announces “Magic Mile Tours” for Visitors in 2012

Loudon, N.H. (April 12, 2012) – Tidying up a 1,200-acre facility for more than 100,000 friends is quite the “honey-do” task. New Hampshire Motor Speedway has begun such preparations for the NASCAR weekends and is giving a sneak peek into the action with new “Magic Mile Tours”. Starting Monday, April 16, speedway staff will peel back the curtain on the magic with daily tours at 11:30 a.m. The trip will include a lap around the famed 1.058-mile NASCAR oval or the 1.6-mile road course, depending on track configuration.  “It’s probably the most common question I get from fans; “What’s it like driving on the track?” says Jerry Gappens, executive vice president and general manager of New Hampshire Motor Speedway.  “I figured we should let people find out for themselves. And on the way, we will give them a behind the scenes look at what it takes to host two nationally televised NASCAR Sprint Cup Series events.”For just $5 dollars per person (children aged 16 and under are free), visitors will hop aboard a “studio tram”, for a full tour of the facility without all the walking.  Check out the garages where your favorite driver gets ready to race, see Victory Lane up close, and view the full expanse of the property and all of its amenities.   “People will see we have quite a lot of fun and have quite a bit of space in Loudon,” says Gappens.  “Families may discover something new they want to come back and see on race weekend.  Or perhaps they’ll scout out a new camping location.”The $5 dollar fee can be used as a discount for race tickets, camping, and hospitality when purchased the same day as the tour.   “We have on-track activity nearly every day, so each tour will offer the additional benefit of giving fans some exciting action of all kinds of variety.  One day the motorcycles will be blitzing over the road course.  On a different day, the American-Canadian Tour late models might be testing the track for an upcoming race event.  Each day, the tour will have a unique feel because of the show that’s being offered trackside.”With the exception of a handful of dates, the tours will be held every day throughout the 2012 racing season.Great seats, camping, hospitality, and VIP packages are still available for the LENOX Industrial Tools 301 on July 15 or the SYLVANIA 300 on Sept. 23.
